The weather was sunny that day. Warm enough for one to go out riding with their horses. And that was exactly what a blonde haired young man was doing riding through the shuddering woods. His blue eyes were sparkling as his horse, a mare, tossed her mane back and neighed softly. Peter smiled as he placed a soothing hand on her neck and petted the horse. The mare had calmed down a bit but the king kept a close watch on his surroundings. Even if this was Aslan’s Country one couldn’t be too comfortable in the woods. Rhidon gleamed at his side, freshly clean and the tip sharpened. He had made sure to take extra care of his weapons from experience. Peter bit down on the inside of his cheeks as he started to become lost in his own thoughts again. He can honestly say that the past few weeks had been a complete shock to him. Having received a vision that something was happening in Narnia and going on a train to get the rings. And then having the trains colliding. This was the most difficult part for him to remember. All he remembered was the sounds of the tires on the track and a huge boom and screams and all of a sudden….blackness. His ‘last thoughts’ were that of his family. Peter never told anyone this but he had encountered a dramatic stage afterwards. A stage that needed only the healing touch of Aslan and only the Great Lion knew about it.
No one else and frankly Peter wanted to keep it that way. He knew his sisters would fuss over him, more Lucy than Susan. And he knew Edmund would become worried. He took a deep breath as he stared straight ahead. He didn’t realize the grip on the reins were tight until his mare started to shift and he loosened it up. “Sorry girl,” the high king whispered as he petted her again. He needed to get his thoughts together again. Peter marveled at the fact that Lucy didn’t have a…break down from being dead. He was startled when he saw Susan wondering in Cair Paravel a couple of weeks after his first meeting in Narnia. Peter had started to wonder if it was perhaps due to Aslan that Susan was back with her siblings. The Great Lion would certainly have made a pardon in the case of his eldest sister. And speaking of Susan…the mention of his sister had made him wonder about Caspian. While he had not seen the Telmarine yet Peter wanted to ask what had happened to him after they had left their second time in Narnia. Did he start a family? Have any kids? Those ideas were impossible. Peter always had a thought that there was something going on between Susan and Caspian. It made him even more protective over his sister. One of these days he would have to stop by the Telmarine palace, if it was still there, and ask about Caspian.
Peter sighed softly to himself as he continued to ride through the woods in a not so fast pace. He glanced around his surroundings, thinking that he had heard something. It was probably just his imagination after all. But Peter couldn’t be too sure. He gently gripped the reins of the horse with one hand and slowly put the other hand on the handle of his sword. Feeling the sword there had made him feel safe. A light wind ruffled past him, making the trees sway and his hair ruffled. The king closed his eyes for a moment, enjoying the peace and quiet that the woods had to offer. If he focused hard enough Peter would start to imagine that he was twenty nine again. It had been hard for him to adjust to being a teenager again. It had been frustrating trying to do things on his own and the adults had insisted on doing it for him. He had proved that he was old enough to do things by himself after all. Peter sighed again, his ears pricking forward as he heard yet another sound. He pulled hard on the reins, making the horse stop. In one swift movement Peter pulled out Rhidon and turned around. His blue eyes were flashing with annoyance. “Whose there?” he shouted. “Show yourself!”

Ireth had parted with Gwen, promising to meet back up at Cair Paravel eventually. She had only been in the shuddering woods for about three days, walking instead of riding again. She had looked over her map ealier that day and realized she would be at the Cair in only two weeks if she walked, however she would probably ride.
While she walked she thought back on the four royal Narnian siblings. So much had changed since they left, and she had no chance to see them when they came back to help Caspian as she had been dealing with her sisters. She had missed the four of them very much, but if she was honest it was the two kings, Edmund and Peter, that she missed the most. The boys had always been fun to spar with and not just weapons. She could debate Edmund on policy and books for hours, and one time the chess games that had become regular anytime they were together had lasted two days. Peter however always challenged her with her weapons, or horse riding or sports. They learned early on to never try and give the other advice on how to run their Kingdoms, it usually resulted in one of them being thrown in the water.
As Ireth walked she heard the sound of hoves, and quickly pulled out her sword. None of the people around the area ever ventured into the woods and when they did it was never for anything good. As she walked she heard a voice yell out “Whose there? Show yourself!” Ireth's head snapped up when she heard the voice, Peter Pevensie back in Narnia? She walked out of from behind the branches, lowered her sword and faced the golden haired, blue eyed king. He looked just as he had when she first met him.
"Mae govannen* Peter Im gelir ceni ad lín* but you would think even with the 1,000 plus years since we last saw each other my walk hadn't changed that much" she told him with a smile
Mae govannen- Well met Im gelir ceni ad lín-I am happy to see you again

Peter waited, his sword was out and was rather tensed. He frowned a little as a woman walked out from the branches. The high king lowered his sword but he did not put it away. He glanced at the woman. She did look familiar. He wondered if she was a noble of his court perhaps. When he heard her speak Peter immediately sat straight up in his saddle. “Ireth?” he simply could not believe his eyes. He chuckled at her statement. It was definitely her. “Ireth it has simply been too long,” Peter told her warmly. His eyes sparkled. “It does need some improvement but you look simply beautiful if I must comment on it,” the king sheathed his sword as he slide from the saddle. “How have you been doing these past “How have you been faring these past long years?” It had been far too long since the two had seen each other. They had first met during the Golden Age of Narnia. He enjoyed arguing with her about politics even though he wouldn’t exactly admit that out loud. He then wondered if she had heard about his apparent death. Or if she had seen his other siblings. Ireth would have to come up to Cair Paravel for a visit. Peter chuckled again, this time to himself.
“You would simply have to visit Cair Paravel again,” the high king told her. “I would love to have the chance of dinning with you. And maybe some dancing,” there was a smile on his face. His horse tossed her mane back and snorted softly. Peter turned and petted her again before walking over to dig into his bag for an apple. Finally finding one he gave it to the horse. The mare chewed on it. He just stared at the horse for several minutes, deep in thought. Every day Peter was finding old friends. It gave him a thrill. He never felt this happy before in his life. Except during his coronation as the high king of Narnia. Sometimes Peter wished that the people in England had the manners that were required by nobles. He never noticed how rude the people were in his time, especially the school kids. Their parents would just let them run wild. Well the ones without any morals to be exact. He remembered getting into plenty of fights at school. Most of them weren’t even his fault either. He happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. Thankfully Peter had gotten away with it. He was a good person, or a kid in their eyes. Peter noticed that his behavior was better than most of the students in the classroom.
He shook his head, bringing himself to the present as he walked out to lean up against the horse casually. Peter glanced at Ireth with a soft smile. “Sorry about that,” he apologized. He hadn’t met to get caught up in his thoughts. It just sort of happens. To the high king more than he wished it would not. “Where were you walking off to when we crossed paths?” Peter wanted to know, curious.

"You Peter Pensive, high king or not are going into the ocean the first chance i get, but thank you. And dare i say you have gotten more handsome as time has gone on" she told the man walking over to him and hugging him and then kissing both of his cheeks. She gave him a weak smile when he asked how she had been since they last saw each other, but wasn't exactly sure what to say. She knew Edmund would understand what had happened, but she valued the High King's respect and thoughts of her far to much to discuss the exact details with him before telling the Just King. "I have seen and done much since we last saw each other dear friend, much i wish could be unseen and much i wish could be undone" she told him She chuckled as when he mentioned dining and dancing, Peter had always been an excellent dancer. " I should like to accompany you back Peter, it has been to long since I've beaten your brother at chess, and much to long since we've danced a Volta together." she told him with a smirk, making a sound for her horse to follow her and go stand next to Peter's horse. She patted the horse and then realized something, something she wished she hadn't Peter and his sibling if they were here, that means they were dead. "how did it happen? Promise me you weren't up to your old ways, diving head first and thinking later. I always said it was going to get you into trouble." she scolded him, she hadn't meant it to sound harsh, but Peter had a habit of do first think later and she hoped that hadn't been what had gotten him and his siblings killed. She let her own thoughts wander slightly when she noticed Peter's had wandered far down the road. He must know that she was very far away from her country, and that the woods had not been somewhere she had been often when they were alive. "it's alright. I was on my usual patrol route. I usually stop at the Cair anyway, just to check on those waiting for your return, but there hasn't been any serious trouble for many years, so I think i shall skip the rest of it." she told him jumping up on her horse and looking at him expectantly. outfit;; CLICK MEEEE
