Once Ireth had arrived at Cair Paravel she used her magic to make herself invisible, planning to surprise one of the only people she could ever mentally spar with. She moved silently though the halls of the castle easily remembering the way up to her friends private room.
When she arrived at the door of the Just Kings private chamber she made herself visible and found it locked which she fixed with the wave of her hand. She walked into the room and crossed it to where the window that overlooked the beach was, a table with the King's gold and silver chess set was. She sat herself down in one of the chairs and moved her first pawn forward.
She waited at least a half hour before she heard the door unlock and it be pushed forward. "Mae govannen linyenwa mellon. Im gar milya Le." she said gesturing to the chess board
*well met old friend. I have missed you

Edmund smiled to himself as he walked back towards his private chambers. Finally the meeting was over. Yes, Edmund liked being King although some of the responsibilities that came along with the job were less than enjoyable. He really would rather spend the majority his time with his siblings in the gardens or any of their private chambers, or with friends, such as Philip, than locked in the “war room” as Lucy had once named the study where Peter and Edmund had meetings during the Golden Age. As he unlocked the door to his rooms, he could feel that something was off, not necessarily wrong, but just off, then stepping into his rooms, he heard a voice he’d long since consigned to the realm of memory, and with it, the past came rushing back, "Mae govannen linyenwa mellon. Im gar milya Le."
The Just King smiled, Ireth was waiting for him, seated by the window at the table upon which his gold and silver chess set sat. It was obvious what she wanted to do, play chess with him as they so often had during the Golden Age. It was good to see her again, and it would be even better to play chess with her again. Their games had been a thing of ritual every time Ireth came to visit. One time a game of chess between The Queen of the Fae and the Just King of Narnia had lasted for two days. Seeing Ireth seated across the chess table brought back so many happy memories to his mind and he said, “Mae govannen, Ireth, linyenwa mellon nin. Im gar milya Le as well. Man anírach cerin an le?” Most of the conversations that Edmund and Ireth had had during the Golden Age had been conducted in the language of her people, unless they were debating books or policy, in which case they spoke the Common Language. Edmund was the one of his siblings most fluent in the language of the Fae, which was no surprise as he was the one who had taken it upon himself to learn as many languages of the countries surrounding Narnia as he could, as he was the Sovereign who tended to go on the majority of the diplomatic trips, so his learning as many languages as he had done had been necessary for his position. All of the languages he had learnt were in addition to the Old Narnian, which he had taught his siblings and which they had used as a secret language between them. Of course this made it much harder for him to keep the languages he had learnt at school in England and those languages he’d learnt in Narnia separate and he’d sometimes would write an assignment for French class or Latin class and slip in a word for one of the many languages he’d learnt in Narnia and then have to start the assignment over and burn the one with the mistake. He sat down opposite her and moved his first pawn to counter her move. “Your move.”
Translations: Well met, Ireth, my old friend. I have missed you. What can I do for you? OOC: The Common Language is what I would imagine English would be called in Narnia seeing as the Narnians thought “Spare Oom” was the name of the Pevensies’ home land and not England.

Ireth couldn't help the smile that bloomed across her face when Edmund slipped easily back into her native tongue. She had feared many things when she found that the siblings had returned, and one of them had been that Edmund would forget her tongue. He had always been the best at it, the girls could say small conversational things, peter could say a few more things, most of them insults she had taught him, but Edmund spoke like any other Fae or Elf and sometimes when they planned pranks, they would speak in the language. "Im maure iaun Edmund. Le ar Lîn gwanur nin metta estel. Ráne nîn laume mána " she admitted to him. She had only told Peter that things had changed greatly since they had up and left their Kingdom, but she knew she could tell Edmund the whole truth, he would understand completely. As she surveyed the chessboard she made another move and nodded at the man. She studied him slowly as he took in her words, he looked exactly as he had the day they had met and she would say she preferred him without the beard he had sported in the later years of his reign. "tell me of your sisters Ed, are they anything like i remember them?" she asked I need sanctuary Edmund. You and your brother are my last hope. Wandering has done me no good. (i didn't feel like looking up the second line, but let's assume it's said in Elvish) www.polyvore.com/ireth/set?id=32713941
