Just a little walk, that's all she was going to take. A simple, short little walk to get away from her blabbering mother and sister for some alone time. There was only so much of those two insufferable women anyone could take. Waving her hand in front of her face as if to signify exactly how exhausted she was. The day had barely begun and yet she already felt wary from all the commotion. Dinah picked up her skirt a bit, taking a dainty step over a stump on the ground, making sure her dress didn't receive too much damage from the old wood. It may be a dress she wasn't all that fond of, but it was one of her lovely dresses none the less and would receive the same amount of care and dedication the rest of them knew.
How long had she been walking for now, anyway? Dinah was never on to keep track of time. She left such mindless tasks to her brother or sister. They seemed just as capable of it as she, so why not they take on the task? Dinah honestly never felt like she had the attention span to keep up with those sort of things. Such as it went with her attempting to learn how to fight correctly. Her brother had tried on multiple occasions to get her to learn, but she just refused. She knew very simplistic ways to keep out of danger. Things such as not ticking anyone off, being pleasant to as many as she could, avoid dangerous conversation, and well, don't travel off too far from the pack. Yup these were the few rules she stuck to. Or well...usually tried to stick with.
Though today it seemed she had broken the last rule. Finally, Dinah's hands released her green silk dress, as she glanced at her surroundings. Nothing she'd ever seen before, and she had traveled to Narnia on multiple occasions with her father for business before. That explained it enough for her; the simple fact her father was the one she usually came with I mean. Her mother and sister frustrated her to no end, but her father, oh how she adored that man. Wanted to be the perfect ray of sunshine, his baby girl, for the rest of her life. A difficult task to perform when the man was never home and never gave such compliments to young Dinah. It didn't deter her from attempting, though. In fact it caused her to want to try harder. Lord, she needed to learn to focus better. Shaking her head thoroughly, her long brown curls bounced down her back as she did so. Now to figure out where she had wandered off to.
Sometimes nature - she felt - chose to look eerily similar to toss people up. Cause them to get lost. Sighing heavily in defeat, Dinah finished looking over her shoulder in slight despair and headed onward. Why not go ahead and keep getting lost-er? She was already going to be in some sort of trouble why not make it all worth it? As she wandered deeper, she came across an opening, and in the center stood a tall black lamppost. Dinah's pink lips parted slightly in wonder as her pace slowed before halting completely. She'd heard a few little tales here and there about such a pole, but never paid much attention to them. Her sister was the story lover, not her. Taking a few cautious steps forward, Dinah placed her index finger out, running it up the length of the pole as far as she could. Her hand slowly found its way back by her side, as her eyes gazed upward in a quizzical manner.
Well this was a good enough place for her to stop wandering. Dinah turned her back to the pole, placing it against it and slowly allowing her body to slip down to the grown, using the pole as a back support. Her head thumped against it gently, as her hands folded on top of her dress; fingers fiddling with themselves. Perhaps if she learned tolerance for useless banter, she wouldn't end up in predicaments such as this. Eh, it was more amusing this way. Eventually she'd gather the intuitive to get up and find her way out. But at this moment? She figured why not enjoy the peace and quiet. Peace and quiet. The words brought a smile across her lips as her eyes fluttered shut. Ah yes, tranquility at its finest.
The sound of rustling leaves, bushes, what have you, though brought Dinah from her pleasant thoughts. The corner of her mouth flinched with slight annoyance already as she opened her eyes. She couldn't quite make anyone out just yet. Slowly, Dinah pushed herself up off the ground, hands cautiously going behind her and grasping the lamppost as she called out, "Anyone present?"
