History: Her mother was known to be a performer, a very excellent one at that. Though her secret was that she used some magic, dabbled with it to make her performances only greater. Her natural ability with magic became her most prominant feature. Though a ability that was a gift soon with in months turned into a curse. Her mother at one performance used her power and everything went wrong, the area of which she was soon was ingulfed in flames. It looked as though the spell had gone wrong. Before she could explain, she was banished. Off to live on her own for the rest of eternity.
As she lived her life away from the people, she became stronger in the art of magic. One day a knight came, he was young and knew that he was never meant to venture this far. Soon her mother trapped the young man and as he set his eyes upon the exile, he fell for her. Perhaps it was the young knights need for constant danger but even after the women sent him out of her home he came back. Each time just looking for one more glimpse and one more moment to take with the mysterious woman. He began to fall for her and after much fighting with herself she fell for him to. He asked her to be his, to come back with him to the place she had so long left.
That was when she knew it was never meant to be, that this love they shared would never go beyond the shrowded woods where she lived. After making quite the spectacle, she told him to never return. That all he would find was the same evil that everyone had claimed her to be for the last time he kissed her lips and left a locket in her hands. As he road away for the final time though, little did she know that soon she was to discover she was pregnant. She refused to believe it at the time, convincing herself that it was far from true but soon she gave birth to a baby girl.
The baby was much different from her mother except for her crystal blue eyes that shined like diamonds. Odettes mother loved her but she knew that she did not want her daughter to suffer the same fate as she had. Her mother created a disguise so that she could go inland at least for only a moment. Putting the baby in a bundle of blankets she placed the locket around its neck. She came to the knight, though she looked as a old hag, giving him the baby he toon one look at it and knew the truth. Before her mother left she placed her hand about the baby and whispered 'give her the voice of the angels' with that she left the baby with him. The knight was named Nicholas Lockeheart and he was her father.
He raised her well, he was a kind and gentleman and it was reflected in the way that he treated his daughter. Though at a young age she was bright and noticed that she could get just about anything from anyone that she wanted. Just a simple song could make her playmates often do whatever she wanted. As they got older, everyone got smarter and their will became strong. It became harder for her to get exactly what she wanted but even then Odette began to grow into her looks. Just like most other girls at the time, she grew into a more feminine body and the boys around her often took notice. She came vain and greedy. The boys she noticed seemed to be weaker willed around a pretty girl and soon she bended them to her will. Getting all the gifts that she could ever want, nothing seemed to stop her.
Soon though her father took notice of how his daughter was and scolded her. Telling her just how much of a child she acted and soon she was going to have to stop acting like a child. He knew very little about how to disipline a girl but he knew one thing. He was arranging her to be married, hoping that if she married a man who did not bend to her will she would learn the lessons he had often tried to teach her. With that he began the search, bringing man after man to his daugther. Most failed the test at first or after a short period of time failed, the point was that soone or later they ended up giving in. When she was out one day though, she met a strange young man.
He claimed to be a lord from another far off land, a very rich man at that. Odette was greedy and so when he mentioned his riches she was all in. On top of that, she was a vain young women and his power and status she would be seen as such a powerful figure. That was all she needed, after a while she proclaimed that she was in love with a man and she brought him to her father, Odette became changed women and realized what true love was, throwing aside her vainity and greed. He was smart enough to not be entranced by the young women but something seemed off about him and her father refused to give his daughters hand in marriage.
Odette was furious and behind her fathers back made a plan, they would meet near the woods and run off to be married. At midnight, she snuck off to the edge of the forest where she waited for him to arrive. Bringing herself and quite a bit of valuable items with her she waited. Hours went by and he seemed not to be showing. Discouraged, Odette thought she should depart. Soon enough though he came strolling up to her and in a moment she was dead. It all had happened so fast, he embrassed her and before she knew it he had stabbed a dagger into her. 'Did you ever think someone could really love something as awful as you' he whispered into her ear as he placed her on the ground. With that, he took her items and left her where she was. Shutting her eyes for what only seemed like a moment, she awoke to find herself in Aslands Country. After a bit of examing she knew exactly where she was, after all she had read about it in all of her books but had never been there. Realizing how awful she had been at the beginning of her life, she felt saddened. Right when she had began to change things around, it seemed as though she was gone from that life. Regardless, she was determined to become the person she knew she had needed to be. After all, she was in Aslands Country and it was time for her to be a truly good person.

Elaine realized it was very true, they had always made a good team no matter what. It seemed to be one of the very true facts about them after all Elaine and Conner practically read each others minds. The future had seemed so far away, even last year Elaine felt as though it had hardly been a factor and now it seemed to be the one thing that loomed over everyones minds. It was something that none of them had taken seriously until now. Being a journalist was Elaines goal and she would sacrificed anything for it usually. Though when it came to Conner and her, to be honestly she would give it up for their friendship without a doubt. That scared Elaine to death. Never had someone meant that much to her.
One thing though that made her the most excited was getting to be out on her own. Yea it was a scary thought but she was ready to get away from her parents. From their petty social parties where all that mattered was who had the higher social status. They never really liked the people Elaine hung out with unless they had money and well they were of the right blood. Elijah was young enough to not care and that was why she loved him so much. Honestly, Elaine thought about moving out of her parents house and taking her brother with her. Her mother was never really a mother to him and well she had never been much of one to Elaine. Not that it mattered much now, all that she wanted to do was to give her brother the life that she knew he deserved.
When he mentioned the library she nodded "I'm not the biggest fan either but if we expect to focus anywhere that is probably our best bet" Elaine said smirking. After all if either of them expected to focus around each other that was about the only place they could. If the two of them went outside and attempted to it would probably be one of those lost causes, they both would get distracted quite suficiantly. It was easy for them to get distracted around each other, even when he was suppose to be cleaning it seemed as though things had taken a turn in a completely different direction. Honestly even if she had meant it in a sarcastic way Elaine really had learned alot from Conner. For that she would be eternally greatful, he had become the one person she really let in. With him her walls would come down. Somehow though she could not help it, something about him made it so easy for her to do.
As Conner explained himself Elaine smiled, "its alright Conner" her voice was soft "I could never be mad at you". It was very true, Elaine had a hard time being mad at him at any point really. Plus him not being at the ball wasn't that bad after all he had just skipped a dance, it was not as if he had skipped some huge thing that she had begged him to come to. He was always there for her when she truly needed him and for that Elaine knew he could skip all the dances that he wanted. When he touched her hair and brushed it away, Elaine felt a jolt go threw her body. Not that it as bad, it was more good then anything. Something about the way he touched her now was so different, the way they stood there with each other was not like any other time. When he moved away, it was not like the other times. This time it had felt like there was more to it.
He went to cleaning what was already clean. Maybe that was another clue, the fact that he would do anything to avoid looking at her. When he looked into her eyes, Elaine felt so uncertain about what he was even going to say. He said nothing and as Elaine looked into his crystal eyes, Elaine could not bare to say anything. In a way she wanted to say something, anything just to ease what was going on but Elaine felt no words come to her soft lips. He had left her speechless, usually she always had something to say to him and now they both just looked at each other. Her heart beat picked up as she stood there with her hand on his cheek, for her time seemed to slow down. Elaine could feel herself taking in deep breaths, even now she felt like ths had to remind herself to breath. He looked like he wanted to move away, though another part of him stood there. More of him wanted to stay there. Elaine was glad, she feared that if he left...she would not know what to do.
His eyes were locked onto hers and maybe what happened next, was what Elaine was expecting. Elaine knew though that deep inside of her, it was exactly what she wanted to happen. Actions always spoke louder then words. The world had felt like it was spinning a short period ago and now it felt as though all time had stopped. He breathing become steady and she could feel Conners face move closer to hers. He moved slow but the way he moved was obviously controlled, her eyes could not bare to leave his. She was afraid that if she dared to leave his gaze then this moment would fade away and everything would crumble around them. Elaine could not bare to think that would ever happen and Elaine would trade every bad memory she had to be replaced with this one. It was probably the one thing that would stick with her for weeks.
His hand was on her waist and he pulled her in, Elaine did not resist at all. Whatever space that had been between them before in one swift movement was gone and all that remained was the two of them. When he swallowed, Elaine felt a small smile come to her lips. He wa nervous it was obvious to her though so was she after all Elaine had never felt this way before. It had always come to easy to her with anyone else and with Conner, it all seemed so brand new. Then his eyes shut, their lips brushed and Elaine felt what could only be described as a jolt threw her whole body. Within a few moments, her blue eyes fluttered closed getting herself lost in the moment. His hand ran threw her hair and lightly, Elaine brought her arms up to his shoulders. Keeping herself balanced, even after his lips had simply brushed against her Elaine could feel her knees wobling.
It had never been like this for her, never had a kiss of even a touch made her feel so much like this. When their lips finally did lock together, Elaines eyes opened wide. She was a bit surprised but it was obvious that she was not going to pull away. Elaine did not want to pull away, her eyes closed and Elaine let her arms wrap around his neck. As they kissed, Elaine now found herself breathing in Conner, breathing him just like she needed air and Elaine could feel herself giving in. She did not want to put up a fight, Elaine only wanted to give in. When the kiss ended, Elaine opened her eyes and she looked at Conner as he held the sides of her face. Elaine looked down at her feet for a moment and bit her lip. Her cheeks had turned a pink color, it was unlike Elaine to become this way over one kiss. When he kissed her forehead, Elaine smiled. It seemed as though she could not help it. When he held her against him, Elaine did not struggled. In fact she rested herself against him and took in a deep breath. Both seemed unable to say anything at least for the moment.
